After the Raid by Nat Thompson (Year 3)

After the Raid
Trudging anxiously through what was once part of London but is now devastated by bombs. People searching for bodies but are finding only dead ones. Mountains of ashes and dirt piling everywhere. The smokey scent in the air choking everyone who goes there. Bits of wood menacing poking up and littering the floor. Dying whisps of smoke floating slowly higher and higher. Obliterated, burnt, the smell filled the air. Rubbish covered the ground as far as the eye could see.
