Maths In Action

Across Key Stage One and Two we follow the Mastery of Maths structure of Fluency, Reasoning and Problem Solving. The children learn  through concrete, pictorial and abstract processes. This is evident in the layout and coverage in the children's books. We have noticed that the children are dramatically more engaged and enthused in maths lessons and that their confidence has grown greatly, when taking part in challenges and weekly 99 Maths Club tests. Through our REAL Projects the children have opportunities to solve challenges set in a real world context. The children enjoy Active Maths activities which allow them to build their social, team and physical skills through maths which they find fun and engaging.
